Macintosh is the ONLY apple for pie when baking in The RQ's kitchen, UNLESS you can find Idareds! Makes the perfect pie, every time!
Recipe:
MacIntosh or Idared Apples (6-8)
Lemon juice to toss sliced apples
Sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg
Pie Crust:
2 cups flour
2/3 cups butter
7 Tblsp water
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then reduce to 325 for 25 minutes.
