Cranberry-Pear Relish

This is DD's famous cranberry sauce and also the one that we featured in our super easy Thanksgiving below. The pears really give it something special. The recipe is from Holiday Cooking 1992. 

1 1/2 c sugar
3 c cranberries (about 2 bags)
2 pears (cubed)
1/2 t nutmeg
1/2 t allspice
1 cinnamon stick

Combine sugar and 1/2 c of water. Bring to boil. Add cranberries, pears, nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon. Return to a boil. Wait until cranberry skins pop. Remove from heat. Eat hot or cold. Enjoy!
