German Sand Cake Recipe

As promised the recipe in volume for German Sand Cake!

1 cup butter
3 eggs
1.5 cups sugar
1.5 cups heavy cream
1.5 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup sugar

Add cream to eggs. Beat for awhile. Add sugar slowly. Beat until thick and frothy. Add flour and baking soda. Grease 9 X 13 pan. Spread batter evenly. Cook at 400F, 10 min. Melt butter on the stove, add sugar and almonds! Lots of almonds. The cake should be crusty on top. Remove from oven. Spread buttery almonds over top! Finish for 10 min in the oven!
